Harry was an all-round singer, songwriter, actor and piano player that seems to capture the  essence of the times. He looked back to the great song writing tradition of the early part of the 20th century and brought that into the modern perspective. Much like Randy Newman he flew somewhat under the commercial radar with some hits.
