Born Chester Arthur Burnett, Howlin’ Wolf was a towering pioneer of electric Chicago blues. Renowned for his booming, gravelly voice and dynamic stage presence, he defined the postwar blues sound with classics like "Smokestack Lightning". His raw, primal energy heavily inspired 1960s rock legends, including Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones.
