David Bowie
Lodger
1979
RCA #RVP-6390, Japanese pressing
1x Vinyl LP, Gatefold, Recorded at Mountain Studios, Montreux, Switzerland.
Mixed at Record Plant Studios, New York City.
So this is 45 years since the ground-breaking 'Lodger' was released., as the final part of the 'Berlin' trilogy. (The others being Low, and Heroes.)
Heavily influenced by Eno and producer Tony Visconti, with many innovative techniques to shake it up. More avant garde, and certainly approaching New Wave head on with new ideas and directions.
Of course it was not that well received on release, as not a 'commercial' album with radio friendly hits, but has become one of the most important albums from Bowie. It was ahead of the curve and is now nestled in the bosom of musical love.
Condition
Very, very nice clean Japanese pressing. Wonderful sounding and a joy to revisit. Sleeve has some foxing.
