What an unbelievable journey Fleetwood Mac had been on so far. So many band member changes, and stylistically the proverbial chalk-and-cheese.
So after the amazing height of 'Rumours' (Best selling then and still is a great seller) of what to follow it up with?
'Tusk' was a departure from Rumours in sound in lots of ways, and that was a huge gamble. Another Rumours style of album was surely what the public wanted? But due to the very success of that earlier album the band felt they could take more risks, make this is in a different way. Is this their 'White album'?
So after chewing up a million plus in production costs they released the album to the usual fanfare. It did chart well initially but was not the huge hit that the previous couple of albums were.
There is some great songs and has always been overshadowed by 'Rumours.
