The Human League
The Human League are an English electronic and synth-pop group formed in Sheffield in 1977. Originally an experimental electronic outfit led by Philip Oakey, they later achieved mainstream success after shifting toward a more pop-oriented sound with vocalists Joanne Catherall and Susan Ann Sulley. Their breakthrough album Dare included the international hit Don’t You Want Me, which became a defining song of the 1980s. Known for blending electronic production with pop melodies, they helped bring synthesizer-based music into the mainstream and influenced the development of modern pop and electronic music worldwide
