The Byrds

The Byrds were an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1964, known for pioneering folk rock and later influencing psychedelic rock and country rock. The original lineup included Roger McGuinn, David Crosby, Gene Clark, Chris Hillman, and Michael Clarke. They gained fame with their electrified version of Bob Dylan’s Mr. Tambourine Man, featured on their debut album Mr. Tambourine Man. Their signature sound combined jangly 12-string guitars with rich vocal harmonies. Songs like Turn! Turn! Turn! and Eight Miles High helped shape 1960s rock, leaving a lasting impact on multiple genres that followed.
