The Breeders

The Breeders are an American alternative rock band formed in 1989 by Kim Deal of the Pixies and Tanya Donelly of Throwing Muses. They became known for their raw, melodic guitar sound and a mix of indie rock and punk influences. Their breakthrough album Last Splash featured the hit single Cannonball, which brought them mainstream attention in the 1990s. The band’s lineup has changed over time, but Kim Deal has remained the central figure. Their music blends playful energy with experimental edge, helping define the sound of 1990s alternative rock and influencing later indie bands.
