Kikagaku Moyo

Kikagaku Moyo were a Japanese psychedelic rock band formed in Tokyo in 2012, known for blending folk, krautrock, Indian classical elements, and free‑form improvisation into a warm, exploratory sound.

Kikagaku Moyo began as a small collective busking in Tokyo, eventually solidifying into a five‑member group featuring Tomo Katsurada, Go Kurosawa, Kotsuguy, Ryu Kurosawa, and Daoud Popal. Their music drew from diverse influences, creating immersive, drifting soundscapes shaped by sitar, layered guitars, and rhythmic experimentation.  Over a decade, they released several albums through their own label, Guruguru Brain, gaining international recognition and touring widely across Europe, Asia, and North America.  In 2022, after completing their final album Kumoyo Island, the band announced an indefinite hiatus to pursue new creative paths.
