Jethro Tull

Jethro Tull is one of those bands that seemed to look at rock music and think, “Why not throw everything in?” Their sound mixes folk, blues, prog, and a bit of theatrical flair, all tied together by Ian Anderson’s flute playing, which somehow became the band’s secret weapon. Their songs can shift from delicate acoustic moments to big, dramatic bursts without feeling messy. There’s a playful, eccentric streak in their music, but also real craftsmanship. They built a world that’s earthy, quirky, and full of personality, and it still feels refreshingly different from anything else in rock, even after 50+ years.
